James Reyes is the founder and managing attorney of the Law Offices of James Reyes, PLLC. For more than a decade, he has dedicated his practice exclusively to immigration law, representing individuals and families in a wide range of complex immigration matters.

Throughout his career, Mr. Reyes has successfully represented hundreds of clients before the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR), defending individuals in removal proceedings and advocating for relief from deportation. He also regularly assists clients with applications and petitions before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), helping families reunite, secure lawful status, and pursue the American dream.

His practice encompasses a broad spectrum of immigration matters, including Cancellation of Removal, Asylum, Naturalization, Family-Based Immigration, Adjustment of Status, Employment Authorization, and representation of individuals detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Mr. Reyes also has extensive experience handling Temporary Protected Status (TPS), Consular Processing, I-601 Hardship Waivers, employment-based immigration matters, nonimmigrant visas, and relief under the Nicaraguan Adjustment and Central American Relief Act (NACARA).

Over the course of his career, Mr. Reyes has helped hundreds of undocumented immigrants obtain lawful immigration status, allowing them to build secure futures in the United States without fear of deportation. He also advises noncitizens on the immigration consequences of criminal convictions and works closely with criminal defense attorneys to help protect clients’ immigration interests.

Mr. Reyes is a former President of the Hispanic Bar Association of Virginia and remains actively involved in the legal community. He is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA), the nation’s leading organization of immigration attorneys.

Mr. Reyes earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan in 2006 and his Juris Doctor from Emory University School of Law in 2010. While at Emory, he served for two years as Director of Student Legal Services, where he advocated on behalf of students and gained valuable experience addressing a wide range of legal issues.
