James Reyes is the founder and managing attorney of the Law Offices of James Reyes, PLLC. James’ experience in immigration law ranges from defending clients in removal proceedings before the Executive Office for Immigration Review as well as in applying for benefits with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. His current caseload includes applicants for Cancellation of Removal, Asylum, Naturalization, Family-Based Petitions for Immigrant Visas, Work Authorization, and matters pertaining to Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention. James also has prior experience helping clients obtain relief under the Nicaraguan Adjustment and Central American Relief Act, applications for Temporary Protected Status, Employment-Based Immigrant Visas, Consular Processing, I-601 Hardship Waivers, Nonimmigrant visas, and Adjustment of Status.
James has successfully obtained legal status for hundreds of undocumented clients who no longer live in fear of deportation.
James’ practice also includes advising clients of the immigration consequences resulting from criminal convictions.
James Reyes currently serves at the Past-President of the Hispanic Bar Association of Virginia and is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).
James Reyes graduated from the University of Michigan in 2006 and received his Juris Doctor from Emory University in 2010. There he served as the Director of Student Legal Services on Emory’s Universities Campus for two years.
